HISTORY

Mitchell Market Analysts, Inc. (now MMA Inc.) was founded in October 2010 by Bonnie Mitchell, Indiana's first female MAI-designated appraiser. Multifamily projects, particularly Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) studies, had evolved as Bonnie's specialty in the commercial appraisal firm that she founded in 1988, Mitchell Appraisals.^[1] As work in this area continued to grow, she recognized the need to form a separate company to focus on providing multifamily market studies, and MMA was created.

Through the years, our focus has expanded, and our diverse team has grown. To reflect our evolving business, we are now MMA Inc. While still a boutique firm that prides itself on meeting the needs of each individual client, we produce comprehensive studies on market rate housing, market feasibility, special-needs housing, MAP projects, and rural development housing, along with our original specialty of LIHTC housing. We work with developers, syndicators, CDFIs, state agencies, local housing authorities, municipalities, and local agencies, providing the highest quality data and analysis.

Since 2010, we have experienced consistent, sustainable growth directed by partners Jennifer Atkinson and Liza Chen Mutzl, and we are proud to be a WBE certified business.

Located in Indianapolis and Detroit, MMA Inc. has produced 1000+ market studies for clients across the United States, with concentrations in Indiana, Illinois, North Carolina, Arizona, Michigan, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Kansas, Delaware, and Georgia.
