HISTORY

Mitchell Market Analysts, Inc. (MMA Inc.) was founded in October 2010 by Bonnie Mitchell, Indiana's first female MAI-designated appraiser. Bonnie developed deep expertise in multifamily projects—particularly Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) studies—through her commercial appraisal work, and saw the growing demand for dedicated multifamily market analysis, leading her to establish MMA. 

Since then, the firm has expanded into a nationally recognized, WBE-certified practice under the leadership of partners Liza Chen Mutzl and Jennifer Atkinson.

Today, MMA Inc. serves developers, syndicators, CDFIs, state and local housing agencies, and municipalities across the United States from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Arizona, Kansas, and beyond. While still a boutique firm committed to individualized client service, we produce comprehensive community assessments and market studies spanning affordable and LIHTC housing, market-rate multifamily, age-restricted communities, special-needs housing, MAP projects, and rural development — with 2,500+ studies completed and counting.
